Henning Hegland
Theatre Director, Producer, Entrepreneur

Henning has been working in the creative industry in New York and Europe as an artist, performer, and director since 1997.
His ongoing exploration of how we see defining what we see has informed his work across fields. He co-founded the devised theatre company Blind Ditch Performance in Devon, UK post his MA from Dartington College of Arts and The Scandinavian American Theatre Company in New York post his MFA from Columbia University. His work has featured in the NYT among other publications. He has volunteered in the non-for-profit sector on several boards. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, a recipient of Kurt Weill, Schubert and Wallenberg Grant.
Henning has always been a lover of nature and animals, but moving from snorkelling to scuba diving was an eye opener and the start of an ongoing journey with Focused on Nature. Seeing first hand the growing problem of plastic waste, bleaching coral, and ghost nets emphasised the urgent need to raise awareness and promote change in how people perceive the world around them.
Currently he is based in London, a freelance stage director and creator and busy being a father to a 2 year old son.
