Jim Angell
President of the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation

Jim Angell has been the President of the Paul M. Angell Foundation since 2023. During the decade prior to that, Jim founded and directed the Foundation’s ocean conservation program, which is one of the organization’s three major program areas (the others being Performing Arts and Social Impact). Before the Foundation’s forming in 2011, Jim worked for nearly twenty years as an attorney in the Bozeman, Montana and Denver, Colorado offices of Earthjustice, a U.S.-based public interest environmental law firm. While with Earthjustice, Jim litigated and directed numerous cases seeking to protect the landscapes, resources, and endangered species of the American West.
Jim has degrees from Columbia College (BA), the University of California at Los Angeles (MA), and the University of California at Berkeley (JD). Jim and his wife, Shannon Connery, split their time between Colorado and Paris. They have four children, of whom they are inordinately proud.
