Mission
To save the world’s rhinos from extinction by creating sustainable protected areas that will enable future generations to experience these amazing creatures.
For rhinos.
Summary of org’s work
The Rhino Pride Foundation (RPF) protects and rehabilitates rhinos through secure sanctuaries, advanced anti-poaching measures, and public education. With two facilities in South Africa—including a state-of-the-art wildlife hospital—RPF provides care for injured and orphaned rhinos while offering a safe haven for animals at high risk from poaching. Their long-term vision includes creating large-scale High Security Rhino Protection Zones spanning over 100,000 hectares, equipped with cutting-edge detection systems to stop poachers before they strike. RPF also seeks to raise global awareness through the upcoming documentary “I AM RHINO,” aiming to deepen understanding of these endangered animals and rally international support for their survival.
Location of work
The Rhino Pride Foundation is planning to establish large-scale, high-security rhino protection zones in South Africa, with a proposed site covering at least 100,000 hectares, expandable to 300,000. These zones will use advanced, military-grade surveillance systems to detect poachers before they enter, creating a secure, free-ranging environment for rhinos and other wildlife. RPF is currently developing a business case for this $65 million project and is also exploring potential sites for similar protection zones to America, Australia, and other regions globally.
