Headquartered in Florida, the Sea Turtle Conservancy carries out worldwide programs to conserve and recover sea turtle populations through research, education, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend. Over the course of over 60 years, the organisations’s research programs have yielded much of what is now known about sea turtles and the threats they face, and applying this knowledge to carry out the world’s most successful sea turtle protection and recovery programs.
Location of work
The Sea Turtle Conservancy conducts sea turtle research across 8 countries in the Americas, has tagged over 550 turtles, and trained more than 1,200 researchers worldwide. With a vibrant online community of over 750,000 followers and 8,500 members, it drives global awareness and action for sea turtle conservation.
